Best Caramel Corn Flavors (and Ice Cream Scoops) to Try in Estes Park
Posted September 25, 2025

A tasting tradition (told by our guests)

We make our caramel corn the old-fashioned way (hot-air popped and cooked in copper kettles), then keep things lively with sweet favorites, savory surprises, and small-batch ice cream. But the best part of visiting our little shop on Elkhorn Ave isn’t what we say about it; it’s what our customers say when they walk out smiling! As Christina wrote in her Google review: “we always make a point of stopping at Caramel Corn… the popcorn is wonderful, and the atmosphere is delightful.” That’s the experience we aim for every day: friendly faces, fresh batches, and flavors that turn a quick stop into a tradition.

Sweet favorites (the “one more handful” classics)

Our sweet side is where many families begin. Peanut brings that satisfying crunch-on-crunch; Chocolate Drizzle is our “just one more bite” temptation; Cinnamon Pecan tastes like fall in a bag; Snickers is a candy-bar daydream; and Turtle (chocolate + caramel + pecans) is pure holiday comfort. Guests often tell us these classics are what bring them back. Laura put it perfectly in her Google review: “Love the golden nutty caramel corn. The best ever! Cinnamon chews are just as good! And don’t get me started on brittle.”

Savory surprises

Sweet gets the headlines, but the savory lineup is where we watch skeptics turn into superfans. Cheddar is sharp and snacky, Jalapeño adds a just-right kick, and Dill Pickle — the underdog — has a devoted fan club. Variety is part of the fun, and it’s why people make us a repeat stop. A customer named Art called us a “great spot” with “great popcorn” he’d recommend and revisit in his Yelp notes — exactly the kind of reaction we see when someone tries a new-to-them flavor next to an old favorite.

Small-batch ice cream

“Caramel Corn” may be in our name, but a lot of you know us for handmade, small-batch ice cream too. Flavors rotate (you’ll often see Salted Caramel Cheesecake, Horchata, Sleepless in Seattle, Blue Moon), and there’s nothing better than a cone in one hand and a warm bag of caramel corn in the other as you wander downtown. One mom, Becky, called out our “great selection & yummy cones & treats,” adding that her daughter “loved her candy apple!!”. That’s the visit we imagine: popcorn for sharing, a cone for the walk, and a candy-counter surprise for the kiddo.

Candy-counter traditions

Step inside and you’ll find salt water taffy, rock candy, brittle, toffee, and candy + caramel apples — the nostalgic treats that make mountain-town vacations feel like, well… vacations. On Facebook, Carrie put it simply: it “tastes great and [is] always fresh and crunchy,” and it’s been her favorite “for over 50 years.” Another Facebook fan told us, “the cinnamon squares are so good… love the golden nugget popcorn and brittle — it’s worth the trip.”

That’s the sweetest compliment: planning a little detour just to stock up!
